Pettit, James Leon, 84, of Paden City, WV died Friday, March 15, 2013 at the Broadmore Assisted Living in Bridgeville, PA.

James was born December 7, 1928 in Smithfield, WV son of the late Carl and Melvina Underwood Pettit.

He was a retired gas measurer for Dominion, a decorated Army veteran during the Korean Conflict, loved golfing, bicycling and walking.

In addition to his parents, a sister, Eleanor Puckett, preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife, of sixty years, Leona Cook Pettit; two daughters, Marsha (Gary) Holmes of Paden City, WV and Cindy (Greg) Price of Glen Dale, WV; two sisters, Joan Sluss of Fort Ashby, WV and Sue (John) Lusk of Keiser, WV; four grandchildren, Alan Holmes, Angela Holmes, Valerie Price and Amanda Price and one great grandchild, Ainsley Holmes.

At the family's request there will be no service.
