Obituary for Mary Ballouz Davis

Davis, Mary Ballouz, 97, of New Martinsville, WV went to be with her Lord on Saturday, May 31, 2014.

Mary was born August 12, 1916 in New Martinsville, WV daughter of the late Alexander C. and Valentine VandenBussche Ballouz.

She was a retired office worked for The Paul Wissmach Glass Company in Paden City with over fifty years of service, she graduated from Magnolia High School and Elliot Business School in Wheeling, enjoyed traveling, bowling, tennis and golfing and lifetime member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in New Martinsville. Her uncle, Father Marcel VandenBussche, came from Belgium to be one of the first priests at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Father Marcel Ballouz of Huntington, Dr. Joseph Ballouz of New Martinsville and John Ballouz of South Plainfield, NJ; two sisters, Bernadette A Poole of Columbus, OH and Agnes M. Eby of Cape May, NJ.

Surviving is her daughter, Marcella (Steven) Valentine Ridenour of Gwynedd, PA; two grandchildren, Amos (Yuliya) Valen Ridenour of Minneapolis, MN and Mary (Alex) Ridenour Zamparini; three great grandchildren, Nikki and AJ Ridenour of Minneapolis and Leonel Zamparini of Jenkintown, brother-in-law, Henry Eby of Cape May, NJ and three nephews, one niece, and three step-nieces.

The family request no flowers, but Friends may make memorial contributions, in Mary’s name, to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 21 Rosary Rd., New Martinsville, WV 26155.

Friends received 6-8 p.m., Monday, June 2, 2014 at Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville where a rosary service will be held 7:45 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. John P. McDonough as celebrant.

Interment in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Wheeling, WV to be held at the convenience of the family.

The family would like to thank Linda Leek, who was Mary's "Girl Friday" and friend for the past three years. We are grateful to Linda for providing so much help and support, and affording us peace of mind from afar, knowing Mary was cared for so well.
