Forbes, V. Kaye, 79, of New Martinsville, WV went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 while at her home.

Kaye was born February 26, 1935 in Ashland, KY daughter of the late Russell Evans and Gloria Darling Clevenger Ellenberg.

She was a retired Manager of Operations for Bayer Heritage Federal Credit Union and current member of the Board of Directors, charter member of P.E.O. Chapter U, member of Wetzel County Chamber of Commerce, Friends of the College, United Methodist Women and member of the New Martinsville United Methodist Church where she had an active role in the leadership.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John “Jake” Forbes, Jr. (2006), three brothers, James Evan Ellenberg, Michael Brent Ellenberg and Jerry Gordon Ellenberg.

Surviving are her three sons, John David (Ginger) Forbes of Knoxville, TN, William “Bill” (Victoria) Forbes of Largo, FL and James “Jim” (Leisa) Forbes of Hyattsville, MD; sister, Constance “Connie” Lynn (Phil) Centers of Dayton, OH, six grandchildren, Major Jonathan Forbes, M.D., Sarah Forbes, Rachel Forbes, Christina Forbes, Amanda Gilbert and Michael Forbes; nine great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friend received 2-8 p.m., Thursday, June 19, 2014 at New Martinsville United Methodist Church, 10 Howard Jeffers Drive, New Martinsville where service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, June 20, 2014 with Pastors Melissa Shortridge, Rene Wilt and Michael Atkinson tri-officiating.

Interment to follow in Northview Cemetery in New Martinsville, WV.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made, in Kaye’s name, to New Martinsville United Methodist Church, Sound System Fund, 10 Howard Jeffers Dr., New Martinsville, WV 26155 or Journey Hospice, 314 S Wells St., Sistersville, WV 26175.
