Ripley, Larry J., 72, of Paden City, WV died Friday, October 10,2014 while at Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, WV.

Larry was born January 31, 1942 in East Liverpool, OH son of the late Leo R. and Virginia Robinson Ripley.

He was a retired electrician for the former Ormet Corp., member of Paden City Lion’s Club, American Legion Post 86, Eagles Club and VFW Post 6327, was owner of the former Paden City Sports Shop. Larry loved to travel, golf, fishing and do woodworking. He coached girl’s softball and peewee football. He loved NASCAR and was an avid Mountaineers and Browns van.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-two years, Betty Ripley; son, Darrin (Linda) Ripley of Oak Ridge, TN; two daughters, Laura (John) McSheffery of Sulphur Springs, TX and Carrie (Layne) Sessions of Batesville, AR; twelve grandchildren, Melissa, Micaela, Barrett, Johnny, Nathanael, Mandy, Sam, Pam, Danny, Bekah, Beth Ann and Lindsay; great granddaughter, Bailey; sister, Becky Birkheimer of Sistersville, WV; mother-in-law, Blanche Johnston.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home in Paden City, WV where service will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, October 15, 2014.

Interment to follow in Paden Memorial Gardens.

Honor Guard will conduct full graveside services.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Larry’s name, to help with veterans health programs to the Sistersville VFW Post 6327, 504 Diamond St., Sistersville, WV 26175.
