Burton L. "Burt"  Knowlton
Knowlton, Burton “Burt” L., 89, of Paden City, WV died Friday, December 12, 2014 at Sistersville Hospital in Sistersville, WV.

Burton was born October 28, 1925 in Friendly, WV son of the Herman and Gladys (Williamson) Knowlton.

He was a retired security guard for PPG with thirty-eight years of service, a U.S. Army veteran who served under General Patton in WWII, loved gardening, electronics and golf, member of New Martinsville American Legion Post #28 and member of the Paden City Christian Church where he served many years as a trustee.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Marshall Knowlton and niece, Teresa Rennix.

Surviving are his wife of sixty-six years, Kathryn (Richmond) Knowlton; two sons, Stephen (Andriea) Knowlton of New Martinsville, WV and Don (Kathy) Knowlton of Sardis, OH; sister, Diane (Herschel) Thomas of Wheelersburg, OH; four grandchildren, Joe (Rachel) Knowlton, Matt (Mary) Knowlton, Samantha Knowlton and Sierra Knowlton and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday, December 15, 2014 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home in Paden City where service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 16, 2014 with Jeff White officiating.

Interment in Friendly Cemetery.

Honor Guard to conduct full military service.
