Obituary for Albert A. "Abe" Herrick

Herrick, Albert A. ”Abe”, 83, of New Martinsville, WV went to be with the Lord Friday, May 15, 2015 while at Wheeling Hospital.

Albert was born July 10, 1931 in Proctor, WV, son of the late Albert and Bernetta (Shutler) Herrick.

He was a retired maintenance worker for Bayer, a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in New Martinsville, WV.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Richardson Herrick; three sisters, Beulah Estep, Callista Habig and Lucille Herrick; seven brothers, Edwin Herrick, John Herrick, Andrew Herrick, Martin Herrick, Eugene Herrick, Clem Herrick and Thomas Herrick.

Surviving are five children, Joseph (Sandy) Herrick, Michael “L.C.”(Debbie) Herrick, Michelle (Terry) Estep, Patricia (Alan) Bennett and Phillip (Karrie) Herrick; five grandchildren, Daniel (PJ) Estep, Brian Herrick, Adam (Hannah) Herrick, Amy (Max) McCracken and Braxton (April) Herrick; four great-grandchildren, Madeline, Lincoln and Benjamin Estep and Avery McCracken; special friend and companion, Leona Kirkland; three sisters, Helena (Joseph) Baxter, Rose Goddard and Virginia Novel; two sister-in-laws, Eloise Herrick and Rita Dalrymple.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2015 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, WV. Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Fr. James LaCrosse as celebrant.

Honor Guard to conduct graveside services

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made, in Abe’s name, to the American Heart Association, 7829 National Pike E # 2, Uniontown, PA 15401 or St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 21 Rosary Rd, New Martinsville, WV 26155.

Interment in Greenlawn Memorial Park in New Martinsville, WV.
