Obituary for Mona Lee Oblinger (Thoburn)

Mona Lee Oblinger, 84, of Paden City, WV went home to be with her Lord, Tuesday, January 5, 2016 while at her home.

Mona was born July 16, 1931 in Paden City, WV daughter of the late Alexander R. and Mary Irene (Minor) Thoburn.

She was a homemaker, member of Wetzel Eastern Star Chapter 50, Women’s Club, Paden City Band Patrons for many years, United Methodist Women, going out to dinner with her girlfriends, taking care of her grandchildren and member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Paden City.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack” D. Oblinger (1991) and her aunt, “Dot” Thoburn.

Surviving are her two sons, Kent (Kim) Oblinger of Ellenboro, WV and Dean (Kim) Oblinger of Hilliard, OH; three daughters, Denise (Joe) Smith, Dawn (Terry) Shutler and Lisa (Tim) Bidwell all of Paden City, WV; brother, Alex “Bozy” (Marilyn) Thoburn of Paden City, WV; fourteen grandchildren, Morgan Hilvers, Haylie King, Zack Oblinger, Amy Wade, Eric Smith, Kyle Smith, Jerid Shutler, Lukas Shutler, Troy Shutler, Geoffrey Bidwell, Drew Bidwell, Noah Oblinger, Kaitlyn Oblinger and Isaac Oblinger; great grandchildren, Jaxon, Kash, Chesney, Madeline, Macy, Beau, Bella, Atticus, Spencer, Carson, Gavin and Matthew and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Friday, January 8, 2016 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home in Paden City. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, January 9, 2016 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Paden City, WV with her son-in-law, Tim Bidwell officiating.

Interment to follow in Paden Memorial Gardens in Paden City.
