Obituary for Jerry Ray Cecil

Jerry Ray Cecil, 72, of Paden City, WV died Thursday, September 1, 2016 after a long courageous battle with ALS at Sistersville General Hospital while surrounded by his family.

Jerry was born January 11, 1944 in Paden City, WV, son of the late Floyd and Freda (Moffit) Cecil.

He was a retired carpenter, a member of the Carpenters Union of WV for fifty-two years, loved old cars and motorcycles and was a Christian.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Robert Cecil and sister, Eva Jeanette Hays.

Surviving are his wife of fifty years, Diana (Tippins) Cecil; son John “Danny” Cecil of Ormond Beach, FL; daughter, Carrie (Mark Perni) Still of Celebration, FL; brother, Chuck (Joan) Cecil of Edgewater, FL; two sisters, Jeanine Fetty of Port Orange, FL and Jacqueline Biberthaler of Klamath Falls, OR; two grandchildren, Ashley and Cameron Still; one great grandson, Tyson Ray Herbold; companion, Squeaks and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial Car and Bike Show will be held sometime in October. The proceeds from this memorial service will go to the ALS Association.
