Marguerite Mae Hurst, 87, of Paden City, WV died Friday, December 16, 2016 at her home while surrounded by her family.

Marguerite was born October 10, 1929in Clarksburg, WV, daughter of the late Clarence and Sylvia (Utter) Matthey.

She was the owner of an apartment complex, an avid quilter and gardener, loved her family, friends and flowers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth “John” Hurst; brother, Ralph Matthey and step-brother, Basil Hurst.

Surviving are her son, John (Sandi) Hurst of Pine Grove, WV; two daughters, Paulette (Al) Smith of Moundsville, WV and Jackie (Gary) Parr of Wellsburg, WV; six grandchildren, John (Tina) Hurst, Melissa (Larry) Broadwater, Sonya Hurst, Michael (Davina) George, Kenneth (Angie) Shreve and Destini Parr; two step grandchildren, Justin Herrick and Chelsi Parr; ten great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; brothers, Claude Matthey, Cassel (Betty) Matthey and David (Tina) Newton; sister, Carol (Mike) Dzuranin and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private services held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Marguerite’s name, to Middlebourne Cemetery, PO Box 410, Middlebourne, WV 26149.
