Obituary for Hartsel Buddy Light Jr.

Hartsel “Buddy” Light, Jr., 57, of New Martinsville, WV passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Wetzel County Hospital.

Buddy was born June 28, 1959 in New Martinsville, WV; son of Hartsel “Bud” Light Sr. and Peggy (Smith) Light both of New Martinsville, WV.

He was the founder and owner of Buddy Light Tax Service, member and past President and current Treasurer of New Martinsville Rotary Club District 7530, graduate of Magnolia High School Class of 1977, he enjoyed spending a lot of time arranging class reunions; loved hockey, especially the Pens, winner of the Magnolia High School Life Time Achievement award and New Martinsville Moose #931.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Beth Light (2016) and an aunt and uncle, Sam and Martha George.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his brother, Barry Light of New Martinsville, WV; niece, Lacey Ryan; nephew, Jacob Ryan; aunt, Sally Smith of Streetsboro, OH and many cousins.

Friends received 2-5 and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, WV where service will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, May 11, 2017 with Dwight Williams officiating.

Interment in Greenwood Cemetery near Sistersville, WV.
