Shirley D. (Hunt) Kendle, 84, of Paden City, WV a mother, grandmother, co-worker and friend went home on June 4, 2017.

Shirley is a 1950 graduate of Sistersville High School, former employee of GC Murphy Co., Bowser Sales and Trading, Sistersville Tank Works, First Valley/First Wetzel Savings and Loan in New Martinsville, Bank of Paden City and retired from WesBanco-Paden City in 1998 as Vice-President/Cashier. She was a member of the Paden City Christian Church, Paden City Garden Club, Sistersville Alumni Association and past member of the Martha Washington Chapter 22 OES Sistersville. She enjoyed her time with the Paden City Development Authority and Paden City Foundation.

Shirley was born in Sistersville, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jacob and Prudence (Baker) Byers; parents, Herbert and Elizabeth (Byers) Hunt; stepfather, Claude Hunt; brothers, Mexal, Fred and Bill Hunt and husband of fifty-one years, Melvin L. Kendle, Jr.

Surviving are two sons, Stephen (Rose) Kendle of Harrisburg, PA and Brett (Karen) Kendle of Akron, OH; seven grandchildren, Bryan (Courtney) Kendle of Sanford, FL, Emily Kendle and Jace Kendle both of Harrisburg, PA, Courtney L. Kendle of Akron, OH, Shaye (David) Nak of Montreal, Canada and Hunter McPherson of Denver, CO; brother, Jake Hunt of Huntington, WV; three sisters, Betty (Donald) Rinck of Mission, KS, Patty Soliday of Sistersville, and Nelma Boyle of San Antonio, TX and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Thank you to Karen, Ruth, Carol, Cathy, Crystal, Dee, Barbara, Jessica, Sarah and Brandy who were constant companions. Special thanks to Amy who walked with us every step of the way, and thank you Phyllis for coming to mother’s aide when she needed it the most.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home in Paden City where funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, June 9, 2017 with Jeff White officiating.

Interment in Paden Memorial Gardens in Paden City.
