Betty Jean  Powell
Betty Jean Powell, 87, of New Martinsville, WV died Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at her home.

Betty was born February 26, 1931 in New Martinsville, WV; daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (McCoy) Lemons.

She was a retired hairdresser and owner of Betty’s Beauty Shop; member of New Martinsville Moose Lodge No. 931, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit 28, Friends Club; she liked sewing and crocheting.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Powell; two sisters, Helen Willey and Marjorie Zesiger.

Surviving are two children, Thomas (Laurie) Croasmum of Gainesville, FL and Pam (Randy) Croasmum-Riggenbach of New Martinsville, WV; two foster children, Michael Leroy Duke and Nancy Montgomery; seven grandchildren, Alison Croasmum, Elizabeth Croasmum, Zach Jerico, Graham (Erin) Croasmum, Erin (Jesse) Blacker, Jacob Norris and Caitlin Norris; sister, Wanda (Andy) Harlan of New Martinsville, WV; six great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends received 3-7 p.m., Friday, May 18, 2018 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge Street, New Martinsville, where service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, May 19, 2018.

Interment to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in New Martinsville, WV.
