Obituary for Richard Dea "Rick" Sidwell

Richard “Rick” D. Sidwell, 81, of Paden City, WV died Saturday, September 22, 2018 at his home.

Rick was born December 23, 1936 in Zanesville, OH; son of the late Guy S. and Mary (Lindimore) Sidwell.

He was a retired pipefitter for Union Carbide, a U.S. Air Force veteran, he loved golfing, hunting, fishing and watching and supporting his grandchildren play all sports, a fan of WVU and the Steelers and member of the Paden City Church of Christ.

Surviving are his wife of sixty-one years, Carol (Stull) Sidwell; son Rick (Beth) Sidwell of Paden City, WV; daughter, Brenda Kay (Doug) Smith of New Martinsville, WV; six grandchildren, Bradley, Christina, Rosh, Caitlyn, Brandon and Razzlyn; four great grandchildren, Willy, Caleb, Roslyn and Renzey; two and half great great-grandchildren, Aizlynne, Brynlee and in January, Rowen; sister, Linda (Kenneth) Stead of Paden City, WV; fur baby and best friend, Buddy and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday, September 24, 2018 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home in Paden City, WV where service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 25, 2018 with Brian Price officiating.

Burial to follow in Paden Memorial Gardens in Paden City, WV.

Honor Guard will conduct graveside services.

Our deepest sympathy to Carol, Linda and families. We had known Rick since grade school when, with his whole family, they were part of the backbone of the Paden City community. We especially remember Rick being there to help Guy and June through their challenging years and Duane remembers their good times playing basketball for PCHS.
We have watched the family grow from afar, getting to catch up with Carol and Rick when we could. We know the last years have been very challenging and we will continue to send our prayers as each of you replace the loss, as best you can, with the good memories you have.
