Newman, Dorothy M., 89, of New Martinsville, WV, formerly of Wileyville, WV died Monday, February 18, 2013 at Sistersville General Hospital in Sistersville, WV.

Dorothy was born October 18, 1923 in Dean, WV daughter of the late "Pete" Peter F. and Rosa H. Wise Lemasters.

She was a homemaker, she loved cooking, quilting and gardening and was a member of the Wileyville Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Newman (2012), infant sister, Goldie Lemasters; sister, Geraldine Palmer and two brothers, Verl Lemasters and Sherril Lemasters.

She is survived by her son, Dean (Debbie) Newman of New Martinsville, WV; three grandchildren, Elisha (Travis) Miller, McKenzie Newman and Kelsey Newman; great granddaughter, Kiersten Miller; two sisters, Myrl McLaughlin of Washington, PA and Kathleen (Paul) Huggins of Wileyville, WV and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Homes, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville where a committal service will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, February 21, 2013 at the funeral home instead of the cemetery due to the weather.

Interment in Northview Cemetery in New Martinsville, WV.
