Obituary for John A. Travis

Travis, John Arthur, 68, of Paden City died Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at his home while surrounded by his family.

He was born March 9, 1946 in New Martinsville, WV son of the late Harry Lee and Daisy Marie Cunningham Travis.

He was a truck driver, employee of the former Viking Glass Co. in New Martinsville, a U.S. Army veteran he loved to fish and he attended Paden City Church of the Nazarene.

Surviving are his wife of forty-seven years, Kathy Travis; two sons, John A. (Jerri) Travis, Jr. of Manhattan, KS and Charles William (Brandy) Travis of Wheeling, WV; daughter, Rose Marie (Fred) White of Richmond, VA; brother, Lee Roy (“Sis”) Travis of Paden City, WV; three sisters, Patty Glover (Lee Roy) of Sistersville, WV, Sandy (Earl) Huffman and Shirley (Carl) Sprowl both of New Martinsville, WV; six grandchildren, Alicia, Jessica, William, Kendra, Zoe and Danielle and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Paden City Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Scott Mapes officiating.

Interment to be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made, in John’s name, to Paden City Church of the Nazarene, 104 S 5th Ave., Paden City, WV 26159.
