Obituary for Ruby Marie Vandyne (Ice)

Vandyne, Ruby M., 76, of New Martinsville, WV went home to her Lord, Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Wexner Heritage Village in Columbus, OH.

Ruby was born November 30, 1937 in New Martinsville, WV, daughter of the late Arlie Everett and Margaret Maude Buchanan Ice.

She was a graduate of Magnolia High School, retired cook for Wetzel County Schools, past employee of the former Dairy Queen, she enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening and canning, working with the children at school, founding member and volunteer for Open Door Ministries, and member of Cross Roads Community Church of the Nazarene where she served as a secretary, treasurer, board member, Sunday School teacher while being a faithful and life long member.

Serving and loving like a grandmother to many. Ruby will be remembered as a dependable and loving friend who put others first, found purpose and offered ministering to others.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Kenneth Harold Vandyne, preceded her in death.

Surviving are daughter, Margaret (Tom) Bolinger of St. Paris, OH; a special nephew whom she raised and loved as a son, Bill (Loretta) Ice of New Martinsville, WV; brother, Albert (Patricia) Ice of Woodsfield, OH and three grandchildren, Carmen Bolinger, Michael Bolinger and Jody Ice.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, where service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, June 12, 2014 with tri-officiates, Rev. Steven Nestor, Rev. Jerry Boron and Pastor, Bartlett Wheeler officiating.

Interment to follow in Craig’s Chapel Cemetery on old WV Rt. 7.
