Obituary for Betty Lee Redman (Bayes)

Redman, Betty Bayes, 78 of Sardis, OH passed from this life on Tuesday, July 08, 2014 after a lengthy illness. Betty and Ron, her husband of fifty-eight years, made their home in Sardis, OH. Betty was a homemaker and beloved mother of five girls and five sons-in-law, Linda and Jeff Beeson of St. Clairsville, Marian and Bill Gorrell of Cumberland, Doreen and Bill Roberts of Waynesboro, VA, Julie and Terry Wilcox of Granville, and Janet and Paris Yoho of Woodsfield. She adored her ten grandchildren, Brad and Melanie Beeson, Brock Gorrell, Tucker Roberts, Cory and Hannah Wilcox, Cody and Angie Wilcox, Shannon Wilcox, Savannah, Rachel and Sydney Yoho.

Betty was born in Sardis on August 6, 1935 to Orin and Almeda Wohnhas Bayes, the second of nine children. Her brothers and sisters are Wilma and Harry (deceased) Tubaugh, Glenn and Dorothy Bayes, Lucille and Harold (deceased) Ruble, Larry and Sue Bayes, Ruth Ann and Darrell Jackson, Dillon and Patti Bayes, Donald and Kathie (deceased) Bayes, and Connie and Max Price.

Betty loved and was loved by her church family at Pleasant Valley Church of Christ in New Martinsville, WV. She devoted her life to our loving God. She will be lovingly remembered as a Christian wife, mom, grandma and sister.

Friends received 4-8 p.m., Friday, July 11, 2014 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville where service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, July 12, 2014 with John Veyon officiating. Followed by interment in West Union Cemetery near Sardis, OH.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to honor the wonderful folks at Hospice for the beautiful care they took of Betty in her declining days by asking that memorial contributions be sent to MediHome Hospice, 68150 Bayberry Drive, St. Clairsville, OH 43950.
