Obituary for Ronald O'Neal Eddy
Eddy, Ronald O’Neal, 81, of Paden City, WV passed away peacefully on Friday, July 11, 2014 at Liza’s Place in Wheeling, WV.
Ronald was born November 24, 1932 in Bens Run, WV son of the late Denzil and Leah (Hanlin) Eddy. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School and lived most of his life in Paden City.
In addition to his parents, his loving wife of sixty years, Lenora Mae Buchanan Eddy; sister, Beulah Kranske and brother, Allen Eddy, preceded him in death.
Ron was a passionate man who enjoyed playing music on guitars, banjos, violins (or as he called them Fiddles) and in high school the trombone for the St. Mary’s High School Marching Band. He enjoyed boating, model planes and trains. He obtained his pilot’s license. He was a retired electrician for Ormet Aluminum with thirty-six years of service. He also worked part-time for Bee Electric in New Martinsville, where he enjoyed working with friends and his wife. In his spare time he enjoyed his time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ron was a faithful Christian who attended the Paden City Church of Christ where he raised both of his daughters.
Surviving are two daughters, Kathy (David) Leasure of Salisbury, NC and Barbara (Kerry) LeMasters of New Martinsville; three grandchildren, Melissa (John) Hayes, Brian (Brooke) LeMasters and Veronica Leasure; two great grandchildren, Jolie and Austin Hayes; brother, Robert (Patty) Eddy; sister-in-law, Gala Buchanan of Weirton, WV; brother-in-law, Avery Buchanan of Pittsburgh, PA and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday, July 14, 2014 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home in Paden City where service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 15, 2014 with Tim Fleeman officiating.
Interment to follow in Paden Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made, in Ron’s name, to Paden City Public Library, 114 S Fourth Ave. Paden City, WV 26159.
