Obituary for Hugh Jackson "Jack" Palmer

Hugh “Jack” Jackson Palmer, 81, died Thursday, September 14, 2017 at his home while surrounded by his family.

Jack was born March 5, 1936 in Spencer, WV, son of the Carl and Eunice (Longfellow) Palmer.

He was a self-employed block layer, a U.S. Air force veteran, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and walking all over town, he especially loved his grandchildren and he attended the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Paden City.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis L. Palmer.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-four years, Patricia (Smith) Palmer; two sons, Michael (Amy) Palmer of Paden City, WV and Matthew Palmer of New Martinsville, WV; two daughters, Patricia (Richard) Gore of Paden City, WV and Tina Palmer of New Martinsville, WV; two sisters, Lahoma Tennant of Paden City, WV and Linda (Gene) Ankrom of Sistersville, WV; eight grandchildren, Amanda, Amber, Valerie, Hannah, Zach, Kaleb, Corey and Dustin; two great grandchildren, Zoey and Kennedi and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

At his request there will be no services.

Interment in Paden Memorial Gardens at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Jack’s name, to Paden City Wesleyan Church, 420 N Fourth Ave., Paden City, WV 26159.
