James Neil Daugherty, 84, of Wileyville, WV died Thursday, December 21, 2017 while at Marietta Center.

Neil was born May 13, 1933 in Reader, WV; son of the late Elias and Edna (Taylor) Daugherty.

He was a retired truck driver for Coastal Chemicals, member of Teamsters #175 and #505, he made daily trips to Choo Choo’s to reminisce with friends, member of the American Legion in New Martinsville, a U.S. Army veteran, and he enjoyed hunting.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Daugherty (2012; two sons, Butch Daugherty (2006) and Dennis Daugherty (2015) and all of his brothers and sister.

Surviving are two grandsons, Joshua (Emily Shutler) Daugherty of Morgantown, WV and Shane (Rachel Johnson) of Moundsville, WV and daughter-in-law, Patty Daugherty of Moundsville, WV.

Friends received 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, WV where services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, December 28, 2017.

Burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in New Martinsville, WV.
