Blanche L. Johnston, 102, of Paden City, WV died Tuesday, January 9, 2018 while at her home.

Blanche was born September 3, 1915 at Smithfield, WV; daughter of the late Benjamin F. and Sarah (Hayes) Copenhaver.

She was retired from Corning Glass, member of Sistersville VFW Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary Paden City Unit 86, member of St. Paul Quilting Group, Methodist Women’s Club and St. Paul United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Johnston (2005); four brothers, two sisters and a granddaughter, Angie Booher.

Surviving are her son, Philip Johnston of San Diego, CA; two daughters, Betty Ripley of Paden City, WV and Susan (John) Booher of Sistersville, WV; ten grandchildren and several great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Friday, January 12, 2018 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home in Paden City where service will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, January 13, 2018 with Pastor Sheri Kernik officiating.

Interment to follow in Paden Memorial Gardens in Paden City, WV.

American Legion Auxiliary Paden City Unit 86 will conduct their service at 6 p.m. on Friday.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Blanche’s name, to the Paden City Flag Fund, 101 S Fourth Ave., Paden City, WV 26159.
