Obituary for Ruth Ann Angus

Ruth Ann Angus, 80, of New Martinsville, WV died Thursday, February 1, 2018 at her home while surrounded by her family.

Ruth was born September 15, 1937 in New Martinsville, WV; daughter of Edward and Bertha Mae (Barth) Angus.

She was a retired bar manager for the American Legion Post No. 28 in New Martinsville; she enjoyed watching westerns, playing bingo, growing flowers and watching humming birds.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Harold “Fuzz” Angus, Richard Angus and Virginia Hoskins; three grandsons, Kenneth Thomas, Jacob Fluharty and Leif O’Neil.

Surviving are two sons, George Daniel Thomas of Elk Fork, WV and Ed (Penny) Thomas of New Martinsville, WV; two daughters, Cheryl Campbell of Toronto, OH and Cindy (Rodney) Sands of New Martinsville, WV; sister, Betty Moore of New Martinsville, WV; seventeen grandchildren, Autumn, Jasmine, Summer, Stormy, Cheyenne, Abigail, Skyler, Chancler Josh, Misty, Gideon, Nikki, Heather and Ben; twenty-seven great grandchildren with two more in the near future (with one being her namesake); faithful canine, Moses and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday, February 5, 2018 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, WV.

Interment to be private and held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Ruth’s name, to Journey Hospice, 314 S Wells St., Sistersville, WV 26175.
