Shelly Drennen Brown

To Barbara & Family I imagine my father, Will Drennen, who joined his Lord years ago, greeting Phil with a hug and handshake, saying "Good to see you Phil! been waiting on you up here." My father had such great respect and appreciation for Phil Stoneking, when Phil served on council and Dad was the manager of the electric utility in New Martinsville. I remember Dad asking me to help write a campaign letter one time, and saying to me, "Shell, he's a really good man, the best this town could have, they need to know that." And, of course, I agreed. I just felt the need to reach out to you, when I read the obit in the Chronicle, to share with you my memories and sympathy. When I read Phil's name, my mind and heart went immediately to my dad, who loved him and respected him so much. I have some vague memory Phil told me about squirrel hunting...I won't go into detail. Just know that my heart and prayers are with you now. The world has lost a great man, and Heaven has increased its wealth. May you feel the comfort of warm hugs and love from friends & family, and the peace that passes understanding from God. With love, Shelly Drennen Brown
