Thurman “Dean” Goddard, 84, of Proctor, WV died Monday, September 17, 2018 while at Wetzel County Hospital.

Dean was born October 21, 1933 in New Dale, Wetzel County, WV; son of the late Roy and Elma Mae (Kelley) Goddard.

He was a retired pipefitter for PPG, a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He loved reading, hunting, watching nature, taking walks and spending time with his grandchildren. Dean was a member of the Antioch Christian Church, where he served as an Elder.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Junior Goddard.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-seven years, Eva (Ebert) Goddard; three daughters, Laura (Keith) Grimes of Paden City, WV, Lisa (Mike) Maynard of Powhatan Point, OH and Vicki (Mark) Batton of New Martinsville, WV; six grandchildren, Cody (Ashley) Maynard, Lezlie (Ryan Kinne) Grimes, Danielle (Andy) Kaluger, Kelly (Chris) Brown, Justin Grimes and Brittany (Mike Ford) Batton; step granddaughter, Abi Batton; seven great grandchildren, Kolby, Colton, Travis, Liam, Harper, McKenzie and Mason; five step great grandchildren, Kaleb, Kaiden, Bentley, Lincoln and Keelin; brother, Robert (Jackie) Goddard of Proctor and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, September 20, 2018 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, where service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, September 21, 2018 with Lemoyne Horner officiating.

Interment to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in New Martinsville, WV.
