Obituary for Steven Michael Strother

Steven Michael Strother, 65, of Paden City, WV went home to be with our Savior on Monday, November 12, 2018 while at Sistersville General Hospital.

Steven was born May 22, 1953 in Wilsonburg, WV; son of the late David W and Dorothy (Nay) Strother.

He last worked as a security guard for Securitas, loved wood working, rock painting, working on electronics and listening to music. He was a former President and Chaplin and Lifetime member of the Paden City FOE No. 2281. Steve worked with and was a member of Paden City Museum and a Methodist by faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janette Woofter; three brothers, Kenneth Mac Strother, Charles Strother and Bernard Lee Strother.

Surviving are his wife of forty-five years, Donna Strother; two sons, Steven M. Strother, II and James Strother both of Paden City, WV; brother, Dorsey Harold Strother of Newport Ritchie, FL; granddaughter, Serenity Strother and her best friend and his special granddaughter, Jocelyn Sawinski and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home in Paden City. A celebration of life will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, November 15, 2018 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 130 S Fourth Ave., Paden City with his brother-in-law Barry Bullman and Pastor Sheri Kernik co-officiating.

Interment to be held at the convenience of the family.
