Obituary for Fauniel Helen Graham (Peterson)

Fauniel Helen (Peterson) Graham, 93, of New Martinsville, WV happily went Home to meet her Savior and Lord on January 23, 2019.

She was born to Emil & Carolyn (Lenger) Peterson on May 25, 1925, in Monowi, Nebraska. She was born again in 1937 at the age of twelve at church camp.

In 1942 she graduated from high school with a scholarship, and later taught rural school for two years. (One of her responsibilities was to start the fire in the potbelly stove during the cold NW winters.) Afterwards she began her twenty-one year Civil Service career.

Her first love was her Savior, Jesus Christ; also, she loved her family, art (painting and drawing), and singing. First Baptist Church in Belmont, WV was the church she called “home”.

Fauniel was married to William C. Graham, Jr. on December 28, 1945, who was a career Navy man. (He died in 2014, and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.)

Surviving are four children, William C. Graham, III; Lynnwood (Sharon) Graham; Cynthia Pierce; and, Wyatt (Melinda) Graham. She dearly loved her grandchildren (Heath; Sarah; and, Quentin, Ethan, and Joanna) and great-grandchildren. Also, she is survived by one brother, Norris and one sister, Mildred.

Friends received at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 26, 2019 until time of service at 2:30 p.m. at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, WV. Pastor Scott McGraw officiating.

In the near future she will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery with her husband of sixty-five and a half years. Today they are in Heaven together.
