Obituary for George William "Spike" Riel Jr.

George W. “Spike” Riel, Jr., 62, of McKees Rocks, PA formerly of New Martinsville, WV died Friday, May 17, 2019 at his home.

Spike was born January 25, 1957 in Parkersburg, WV; son of the late George W. and L. Irene (Martin) Riel, Sr.

He was the founder and owner of Rockerfeller USA an advertising agency in the greater Pittsburgh area. A graduate of Magnolia High School Class of 1975. Spike lived for his love of creating. Always plugged into the latest technology and was known for his dynamic voice. He was a Protestant by faith and a member of the Wetzel Lodge No. 39 A.F. & A.M.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Anthony Barr.

Surviving are his son, Andrew (Brittany) Malone of Spartanburg, SC; daughter, Miranda (Jamie) Rowe of Inman, SC; two brothers, Mike (Kathy) Riel of Weirton, WV and “PJ” Riel of Mount Lebanon, PA; three sisters, Jacque (Dave) Brown of Sardis, OH, Lisa (Charlie) Hoskins of Sardis, OH and Marsha (Mike) Richmond of New Martinsville, WV; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; special friend, Crystal Joseph and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends received 3 p.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2019 until time of service at 7 p.m. at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville. Burial to be in Greenlawn Memorial Park at the convenience of the family.
