Obituary for Eleanor Ruth Lemasters (Brookover)
Eleanor Ruth Brookover Lemasters, 73, of New Martinsville died Monday May 20th, 2019 at her daughters’ home after a brief battle with cancer. She was cared for with respect until the end by the nurses and caregivers of Sistersville Journey Hospice
Eleanor was born July 23rd, 1945 in New Martinsville WV the daughter of the late Herbert L and Cecelia Anna (Pavlik) Brookover.
She was a former scout leader, theater patron, lover of the arts, licensed CNA with the Sistersville Center, member of the New Martinsville WOTM Chapter 2165 and farmer.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth L Lemasters; her son, Mark D Lemasters; two brothers, Jack Brookover and John Brookover and her step-mother, Nellie Brookover.
Surviving are her brothers and sisters Melvin Brookover of New Martinsville, Marge (George) Meeks and Doris Babe both of Paden City, Robert (Paulette) Brookover of Fairmont and her sister-in-law Linda Brookover of New Martinsville.
Her children Sherry (Chris) Bachman of New Martinsville, Carolyn (Robert) Gatian of Paden City and Waylon (Hannah) Lemasters Kissimmee FL; four grandchildren Katherine (Craig) Poyser, Joe Feeney, Carlin (Justin) Wade and Bill Feeney; three step-grandchildren, Aimee, Nathaniel and Shelby Gatian; eight great grandchildren: JaeCea, Jayden, Chase, Connor, Cecelia, Emma, Damien and Rydge and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends received 2pm-8pm, Friday, May 24, 2019 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S. Bridge Street, New Martinsville with Honor Services at 7pm by the New Martinsville WOTM Chapter 2165.
Funeral Services will be Saturday May 25th, 11 am followed by internment in Northview Cemetery, New Martinsville WV.
Memorial contributions may be made in Eleanor’s name to St. Jude Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Sistersville Journey Hospice, 314 S Wells Street, Sistersville WV 26175.
