Obituary for Ruth Ann Jackson (Rine)
Ruth Ann Rine Jackson was born December 18, 1931 the Daughter of Everett Rine and Bertie (Cross)Rine. She was Preceded in death by her husband Jim Jackson, brothers are Donald and wife Betty Rine, Madison and wife JoAnn Rine. Sisters are Helen Rine, Beulah and husband Keith Highley, Doris Jean and husband Walter Buerger, Sandra and husband Gary Headley. Sister in law Beverly Rine and Grandson Dillon Jackson.
Surviving are son David and wife Cathy Jackson. One brother, Max and wife Vivian Rine along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to count.
Ruth worked many different jobs during her life. Everything from cleaning at Burlingame Motor Lodge to her career at Wetzel County schools as a cook.
She made a lot of friends over the years with all the kids that went through those lunch lines. She could name you every person that she would slip an extra slice of pizza or chocolate milk to.
She and Jim traveled all over the United States before and after retirement. They also visited every courthouse and covered bridge in the state of West Virginia. They teamed up with Phil and Betty Lou Rine for most of those adventures and took in lots of WVU football games. She loved trips to the beach and it would be impossible to name all the people that she went there with, pretty much the entire family at one point or another over the years.
The love of her life was by far her grandson Dillon. She and Jim took Dillon and his friends on so many adventures over the years. She taught him how to get his hands dirty from working hard in the yard, to making a cake and everything in between. He was definitely her pride and joy.
Ruth enjoyed working in the yard, taking care of her roses and keeping up with all the upkeep around the house but most importantly she really enjoyed all the visits that she got from so many people, young and old. Whenever Cody came by for instance, she would find some kind of job for him to do, it never failed.
If Lacey or Katelyn or Emily stopped by it was the highlight of her day. When her nieces and nephews would stop with their kids she just loved to watch them play in the backyard and always had coins for her gum ball machine for them. Feeding the deer and birds in her backyard was a must and she took plenty of pictures to prove it. She loved her grand puppies Reesie and Zeke and never had a problem giving up her seat for Reesie or throwing Zeke his ball.
Their visits always made her day. Also she had a very special place in her heart for Gene and Diana White, they were there for her no matter what she needed.
Ruth also enjoyed playing bingo and those morning breakfasts with her dear friends was always part of her weekly routine. She was a devoted Christian and taught Youth Bible class at one point in her life and still stayed in touch with lots of them during her life. I truly don’t believe she ever met a stranger and had many, many friends, but one thing that is for sure, she never had a problem speaking her mind no matter where or who she was around.

At Ruth’s request, only a graveside services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Northview Cemetery in New Martinsville, WV.
