Obituary for Doris M. Gatian (Friend)
Doris Mae Gatian, 91, of Paden City, WV died Thursday, May 23, 2019 at her home while surrounded by her family.
Doris was born September 28, 1927 in Morgantown, WV; daughter of the late Victor C. and A. Louisa (Snodgrass) Friend, Sr.
She was a homemaker, she loved playing softball and bowling and was a member of the Paden City Christian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence “Bud” Gatian, Sr.; son, Lawrence “Bud, Jr.” Gatian, Jr.; two grandsons, Wayne Nething, Jr. and Robert Gatian, II and three siblings, Robert Friend, Anna Kennedy and Victor Friend, Jr.
Surviving two sons, Robert (Carolyn) Gatian, I and Richard (Nellie) Gatian both of Paden City, WV; two daughters, Donna Gatian of Morgantown, WV and Betty Ann (Wayne) Nething of Paden City, WV; two sisters, Janet (Marion) Parson of Pawleys Island, SC and Alice (Rick) Sypolt of Glenville, WV; eleven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; six step-great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends received 4-8 p.m., Monday, May 27, 2019 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home in Paden City, where service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 28, 2019. Burial to follow in Paden Memorial Gardens.
