Edward V. Amos, Sr., 95, of Sistersville, WV was reunited with his wife on Wednesday, May 29, 2019.
Ed was born February 28, 1924 in Middlebourne, WV; son of the late Clem and Lula (Mercer) Amos.
He was a retired field engineer for St. Regis and was a retired operator for PPG; loved gardening and playing golf; a U.S. Marine serving during WWII; member of Sistersville VFW Post 6327, American Legion Post No. 86 and New Martinsville Moose Lodge #931; served with the Honor Guard “Blue Blazers” for thirty years and a Protestant by faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary (Maidens) Amos; second wife, Catherine (Riggs) Amos; four siblings, Clem Amos, II, Burl Amos, Gertrude Davis and James Amos and two step-sons, Larry and Tim Still.
Surviving are two sons, Edward (Cathy) Amos, Jr. and Robert (Barbara) Amos both of Paden City, WV; daughter, Edna “Sis” (LeeRoy) Travis of Paden City, WV; three step-children, Nila Goudy and Kitty (Rick) Knowlton both of Sistersville, WV and Susan (Mick) Price of Ravenswood, WV; sister, Jane Zantine of Bowerston, OH; sister-in-law, Shirley Amos of Paden City, WV; five grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; several step grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends received 2-7 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 2019 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home in Paden City where services will be held 1 p.m., Sunday, June 2, 2019. Burial to follow in Paden Memorial Gardens.
Honor Guard will conduct military services.
