Obituary for William Dwight "Bill" Lawrence
William D. “Bill” Lawrence, 76, of New Martinsville, WV passed away Thursday, July 25, 2019 at his home.
Bill was born March 11, 1943 in New Martinsville, WV; son of the late Herbert and Bernice (Showalter) Lawrence.
He was a retired Lab Tech for Bayer, a U.S. Army veteran serving during Vietnam; he loved spring and summer planting and caring for his garden; hunting rocks and fossils with his best friend and feeding birds and cats. He was a Lifetime member of the Moundsville American Legion Post #3 and VFW Men’s Auxiliary Unit #9930 in Duffy, OH and member of the Paden City Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2281 – Golden Eagle.
Surviving are his wife of thirty years, Lynn (Hizer) Lawrence; son, Kevin (Tiffany) Lawrence of Umatilla, FL; two daughters, Cindy (Greg) Gorby of Williamstown, WV and Sherry Sabruno of Warrenton, VA; five grandsons, William Waylon Lawrence, Justin Gorby, Grant Gorby, Spicer Sabruno and Ryder Sabruno and several cousins and friends.
Friends received noon – 4 p.m., Sunday, July 28, 2019 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, WV. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m., Monday, July29, 2019 in Northview Cemetery.
