Obituary for Noel "Rusty" Leland Kirk

Noel "Rusty" Leland Kirk, 69, of New Martinsville, WV, departed this life Wednesday, October 2, 2019 in WVU Hospital in Morgantown.

He was born June 26, 1950 in New Martinsville, the son of the late George "Bud" and Lois "Pauline" (Kocher) Kirk.

Rusty graduated from Magnolia High School in 1968. He graduated from West Liberty State College in 1970 with a 2-year degree in electronics. He then enlisted into the United States Air Force on June 15, 1970, worked on Radar and was a Sgt when he was honorably discharged on May 15, 1974. Rusty was employed at North American Coal Quarto #4 mine in Clarington, Ohio, as a miner helper, bolter and buggy operator. He retired from Bayer in New Martinsville, in 2003 after 25 years of service as an electrician.
He was an active member of the Steelton Church of Christ and The American Legion Post 28 of New Martinsville.

In addition to his parents, Rusty was preceded in death by a sister, Cheryl Ann Kirk.

Rusty is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Josephine "Jo" (Sine) Kirk; a daughter, Jessica Kirk of New Martinsville; a son, Paul (Kayla) Kirk of Paden City; a brother, Mark Kirk of Dallas, Tx; four grandchildren, Haley and Isaac Voorhis and Brady and Noah Kirk, all of New Martinsville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Friday, October 4, 2019 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, where service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, October 5, 2019 with Ed Melott officiating.

Interment to follow in Northview Cemetery in New Martinsville, WV.

Honor Guard will conduct graveside services.
