Obituary for Mary "Izzy" Isabella Kannan (Haught)
Mary Isabelle “Izzy” Kannan passed away Saturday, October 5, 2019 in Parkersburg, WV. Born in Middlebourne, WV to Harvey and Mary (Bickerstaff) Haught, November 18, 1920.
In 1940 she married Richard “Coke” Kannan who passed away August 10, 2005. Izzy, with her husband, owned and managed Kannan’s Variety Store in Paden City, WV for twenty-eight years. She loved making pies and crocheting hats for charity, making hundreds of them.
Surviving is a daughter, Christine Heintzman of Parkersburg, WV and a sister, Ona Robertson of Irving, TX.
Izzy was loved by so many. She had the best heart and the most contagious laugh. She touched so many people with her kindness. She will be deeply missed. She requested no services. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park in New Martinsville, WV.
Because of her kindness she asks that memorial contributions be made, in her name, to the Zachary Taylor Trust, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, WV 26155. A fund set up to assist with the burial of children.
