Obituary for Lorin "Lou" Jerome Ebert

Lorin “Lou” J. Ebert, 92, of New Martinsville, WV died Tuesday, January 28, 2020 while at Rada’s Care Home.

Lorin was born January 10, 1928 in Silver Hill, WV; son of the late Raymond and Clare (Richmond) Ebert.

He was a retired maintenance worker for the former Ormet Corp., a veteran U.S. Army at the end of WWII, enjoyed camping, amusement parks, flea markets, country music and baseball and he was a Protestant by faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his love, Betty R. (Noland) Ebert; two sons, Kent Slie and Charles Slie; five siblings, Wayne Ebert, Betty Ebert, Sherrill Ebert, Elwood Ebert and Donald Ebert.

Surviving are daughter-in-law, Sandy Slie of New Martinsville, WV; three grandchildren, David B. Slie of Bellaire, OH, Lisa Slie and Scott (Julie) Slie both of New Martinsville, WV; two great grandchildren, Zackary and Bailey Slie; two sisters, Elda Jobes and Eva Goddard both of Proctor, WV and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends received 4-8 p.m., Thursday, January 30, 2020 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville where the funeral will be held 11 a.m. Friday, January 31, 2020. Burial to follow in Northview Cemetery.
