Obituary for Donald M. Newman (Don)
Donald M. Newman, 83, of New Martinsville, WV passed from this life on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 while at the Acuity Care in Bellaire, OH.
Don was born December 21, 1936 in New Martinsville, WV; son of the late Joseph M. and Emma M. (Starkey) Newman.
He was the owner and operator of Newman’s Exxon for thirty-seven years, member of Wetzel Masonic Lodge #39 A.F. & A.M., member of Wheeling Scottish Rite, playing with grandchildren, swinging on the porch, working on cars, taking car rides and member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ramona Newman and sister, JoAnn Cecil.
Surviving are his wife of seventeen years Shirley Newman; two sons, Greg (Brittany) Newman of Noblesville, IN and Moose (Cheryl) Newman of Semmes, AL; daughter, Kitty Richvourg; three step children, Tim (Maureen) Cecil of New Martinsville, WV, Crystal (Rodney) Rush of Proctor, WV and Angel (Michael) Hickman of Paden City, WV; brother, Ron (Viola) Newman of Paden City, WV; two sisters, Marilyn Yoho of New Martinsville, WV and Jacklyn Boyd of Seal Beach, CA; five grandchildren, Evan, Alex, Nate, Grace and Jared; six step-grandchildren, Beth, Curtis, Lakyn, Autumn, Gabby and Kolbee; two great-grandchildren, Langston Hux and Winston Jennings and several nieces, nephew and cousins.
Friends received noon until time of service at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ with Pastor Sara Webb officiating. Burial to follow in Northview Cemetery with full Masonic Rites.
