Obituary for Melba Rose Long (Cecil)
Melba Rose Long, 78, of Silver Hill, WV died Sunday, February 9, 2020 while at Wetzel County Hospital.
Melba was born April 3, 1941 in Wileyville, WV; daughter of the late John and Doretta (Potts) Cecil.
She was a homemaker, loved quilting and member of the Wileyville Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Andrew and Dora Yoho; brother, Robert Gene Cecil and grandson, Justin.
Surviving are her husband of sixty-two years, Ronald Long; four sons, Mr. and Mrs. Steven (Cindy) Long of Bee Bee, WV, Mr. Jerry Long of New Martinsville, WV, Mr. David Long of New Martinsville, WV and Mr. & Mrs. Dennis (Jamie) Long of Silver Hill, WV; six grandchildren, Brandon, Trevor, Jason, Jesse, Travis and Hayley; eight great grandchildren, Liam, Peyton, Avery, Madison, Jaykub, Landon, Tailynn and Willow; two sisters, Joyce Postlethwait and Carol Kover both of Warren, OH and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
At Melba’s request there will be no services. Burial at the convenience of the family in the Jolliff Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made, in Melba’s name, to the Jolliff Cemetery.
