Obituary for Jimmy Ray Bigham

Jimmy Ray Bigham, age 57, of China Grove, NC., passed away Sunday, March 1, 2020, in New Martinsvile, West Virginia. Visitation will be 6-8 P.M Friday, March 6, 2020, at Magnolia Chapel North in Tuscaloosa, AL.

Born June 9, 1962, the son of Thomas Dorman Bigham and Laura Jane Colburn Bigham. Jimmy made his entrance into the world as fast as he left this earth. Delivered in the front seat of a '53 Plymouth, which helped establish his greatest passion in life. Anything to do with engines was something he could get down with. His gruff attitude and joking manner hid a heart of gold.

He spent his life taking care of his mama, children, and anybody else who came into his orbit. He enjoyed his chosen field and was well liked and will be dearly missed by his coworkers and his friends from the oil field, where he has worked the last years of his life. Reliable, trustworthy, and someone who would and did go above and beyond the call with work and personal issues. He always went the extra mile.

Jimmy attended Northside High School and then did a stint as an MP in the National Guard before meeting the love of his life and mother of his children, Nancy Garrison Bigham.

He is preceded in death by his father; Thomas D. Bigham, and older brother; Thomas Stanley Bigham.
He is survived by his adoring mama; Laura Jane Bigham, children; William "Bud" Bigham, Grant Alexander Bigham, and Jessica "Babygirl" Morgan Bigham, their mother; Nancy, and siblings; Imogene Posey (Mark), Brenda Coleman, Joseph Burton Bigham (Diane), Sharon Bigham, Scott Bigham, and Kimberly Jane Bigham, as well as countless nieces and nephews and their families.

Many thanks to friends and neighbors from all over the US who have sent prayers and well wishes. Special thanks to David Baumhower, Billy Crowe, Larry Crowe, James "Big Mac" MacDaniel, Mark Jones, Jerry Bigham, and all of his childhood friends who ended up being there for a lifetime.
