Obituary for Paul Jones Casebolt
Paul Jones Casebolt, 92, passed from this life on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Magnolia Village in Bowling Green, KY. He was born on April 6, 1928 in Minford, OH to the late John and Pina Casebolt. Paul is survived by his wife of sixty-seven years, Virginia (Wilson) Casebolt of Bowling Green, daughter Patty Jo Guyer (Jay) of Bowling Green, KY; Steven Paul Casebolt (Judy) of Spring Hill, TN; John David Casebolt (Jane) of Bowling Green, KY; and James Kelly Casebolt (Phyllis) of Clarksville, TN. He had seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Paul served in the armed forces in post-WWII, was a skilled carpenter and welder, and worked as an EMT for the rescue and ambulance service in Paden City, WV. However, for more than sixty-five years, Paul served as an evangelist for the Church of Christ. That journey began in Bethel, Ohio and many of those years were spent in the Ohio Valley working with several congregations on both sides of the Ohio River. His love for preaching even carried him on three separate occasions to the Philippine Islands where he had served in the military during earlier years. In recent years, he worked with the Church of Christ in Pomeroy, Ohio.
Paul enjoyed music, playing his guitar and harmonica, reading, being outdoors, and writing where he has written two minor works of poetry. Though being raised in an economically challenged time, he was always found to be generous and willing to help others in need.
There will be a private graveside service for family. Arrangements are entrusted to Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, Paden City, WV. In lieu of flowers, any donation to the American Cancer Society or by check to the Paden City Public Library, 114 S 4th Ave., Paden City, WV 26159 would be most appreciated.
