Obituary for Lorena May Pyles (Mercer)
Lorena May Pyles, 74, of New Martinsville, WV died Monday, August 31, 2020 at Wetzel County Hospital.
Lorena was born November 10, 1945 in Mobley, WV; daughter of the late Homer and Hazel (Kendall) Mercer.
She was a homemaker, enjoyed reading her bible, going to church, singing and helping others. Lorena was a member of Paden City Wesleyan Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Pyles; son, Robert Dale Duke, Jr. and sister, Ethel Marie Lewis and two brothers, Franklin and Thomas Mercer.
Surviving are her son, David Duke of New Martinsville, WV; eight sisters, Barbara Hayes, Eleanor Lewis, Peggy Adams, Bertha Anderson, Pauline Wise, Darla Barlette and Penny Cumberlidge; four grandchildren, Danielle Duke, Amanda Duke, Paul Duke and Jessica Duke; several great grandchildren; brother, Edward Mercer.
Friends received 2-7 p.m., Thursday, September 3, 2020 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St, New Martinsville, WV. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m., Friday, September 4, 2020 at the Harmony Cemetery in Burton, WV.
