Obituary for Louis Dennis Finley

Louis Dennis Finley, 85, of New Martinsville, WV died Tuesday, October 20, 2020 while at Genesis in New Martinsville.

Louis was born December 3, 1934 in Martins Ferry, OH; son of the late Louis and Wilma (Ruhland) Finley.

Lou was a retired worker for the former Scott Lumber Company, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a competitive card player, earning his Silver Life Master as a member of the ACBL. Once he retired he and his wife traveled extensively and wintered in Florida. Lou was a member of St. Vincent de Paul’s Catholic Church in New Martinsville.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by first wife, Mary “Tee” E. (Reeves) Finley; brother, Maurice Finley and two step grandsons, Nicholas and Benjamin Pfohl.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret (Miller) Pfohl Finley; sister, Pat (Roger) Sipmann; brother, Alan (Kathy) Finley; seven daughters, Dianna (Larry Zink) Duncan, Darlene (Ralph Rich) Otto, Denise Finley, Debbie (Brian) Stewart, Doreen (Kevin) Neavin, Dana (Steve) Newkirk, Donna (Frank) Britton; six step-children, Lisa (Chris) Bedson, Tim (Kim) Pfohl, Brian (Christine) Pfohl, Chris (Kathy) Pfohl, Matthew (Leslie Hoover) Pfohl, Jonathan (Jessica) Pfohl; twelve grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two step great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m., Friday, October 30, 2020 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Monsignor Kevin Quirk as celebrant.

Interment to be held at the convenience of the family.
