Obituary for Lena Mae Smith
Lena M. Smith, 90, of New Martinsville, WV died Wednesday, November 18, 2020 while at Continuous Care in Wheeling.
Lena was born April 1, 1930 in Paden City, WV; daughter of the late Virgil and Iva (Snodgrass) Blatt.
She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Rosary Mission in Sistersville, WV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Smith; infant daughter, Veronica Smith; brothers, Wilbert, Bob and Tom; sisters, Dreva Harris, Mary Kidder, Betty Billiter and Melva Stroup.
Surviving are two sons, Michael (Cindy) Smith of New Martinsville, WV and David (Dee) Smith of Wheeling, WV; daughter, Dianna Smith of Wheeling, WV; two brother, Ernest (Dorothy) Blatt and Frank Blatt both of Paden City, WV; two sisters, Phyllis Sonneberger of Akron, OH and Bonnie Hizer of Paden City, WV; six grandchildren, Stacy Yoho, Erica Smith, Courtney Archer, Jill Emery, Holly Hyde and Dr. Natasha Smith; seven great grandchildren, Braxton, Ryder, Emily, Reese, Lena, Gage and Liam; sister-in-law, Shirley Blatt; niece, Karen (John) Richmond and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
At Lena’s request, private services will be held at the convenience of the family with a memorial Mass to be announced at a later time.
Memorial contributions may be made, in Lena’s name, to Holy Rosary Mission, c/o St. Vincent, 21 Rosary Road, New Martinsville, WV 26155.
