Obituary for Shirley Mae Blatt (Rockwell)
Shirley Mae Blatt, 85, of Youngstown, OH formerly of Paden City, WV died Wednesday, January 27, 2021 while at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, OH.
Shirley was born August 31, 1935 in Paden City, WV; daughter of the late Earl and Oha (Fetty) Rockwell.
She was a retired Teacher’s Aide for Tyler County Schools, enjoyed her family and member of the Pine Street Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George “Tom” Blatt, Sr.; son, George “Tommy” Blatt, Jr.; daughter, Janice Shreves; six siblings, Helen McKeeny, Rodney Rockwell, Norman Rockwell, Doris Hodge and Gaynell Turner.
Surviving are her three sons, Donald (Beth) Blatt of Centerburg, OH, Ronald (Bonnie) Blatt of Youngstown, OH and Bobby (Vicki) Shreves of Gloucester, VA; two daughters, Connie (Larry) Cooper of Pamplico and Judy (Eddie) Lemon of Gloucester, VA, SC; sister, Janice Mikes of Paden City, WV; fourteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends received noon until time of service at 2 p.m., Monday, February 8, 2021 at the Paden City Church of Christ. Mask and social distancing are to be observed. Funeral service will be officiated by Brian Price followed by burial in Paden Memorial Gardens in Paden City.
