Obituary for William Ray "Bill" Sams Sr.
William “Bill” Ray Sams, Sr., 82, of New Martinsville, WV died peacefully at his home on Monday, March 15, 2021.
Bill was born October 11, 1938 in Parkersburg, WV; son of the late Daniel Robert and Thelma (DeLancey) Sams.
He was a retired teacher for Wetzel County Schools, enjoyed amateur radio, served as the director of the Office of Emergency Services and was a member of Bridge Street Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Robert Sams, Jr.
Surviving are his wife of fifty-eight years, Joan (Burch) Sams; two sons, William “Billy” Sams, Jr. of New Martinsville, WV and David Sams of Bridgeport, WV and daughter, Christina Sams of Prince Frederick, MD.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
