Robert Lee Byers, 90, of Paden City, WV died Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at his home.
Robert was born April 20, 1930 in Knob Fork, WV; son of the late Herbert and Goldie (Stewart) Byers.
He retired from the U.S. Army where he served his country during the Korean War, then he retired from Mobay, and then finished his career by retiring from the U.S. Postal Service. He had been an avid hunter and loved walking. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Paden City.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Byers and twelve siblings, Eugene Byers, Lorraine Byers, Florence Byers, Martha Wilson, Elmer Byers, Charles Byers, Clifford Byers, Paul Byers, Pauline Moore, Betty Byers, Zach Byers and Shirley Byers.
Surviving are his two sons, David Byers of Paden City, WV and Rodney (Katrina) Byers of Sistersville, WV; two grandchildren, Jeremy (Heather) Byers of New Martinsville, WV and Christopher Byers of Sistersville, WV; four great grandchildren, Brayden, Ashlynn, Alex and Noah and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Friday, April 2, 2021 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home in Paden City.
Burial in the Pullman Cemetery in Ritchie County to be held at the convenience of the family.
