Obituary for Betty L. Pratt VanCamp (Arrington)

Betty L. (Arrington) Pratt VanCamp, 89, of Sistersville, WV, left her earthly home and moved into her Heavenly residence early on Friday, May 28, 2021.

She was born December 4, 1931 in Weirton, WV, daughter of the late Louis and Beulah (Boggess) Arrington.

Betty loved to travel and made traveling an adventure. Her family often speaks of how they got an education just by going on vacations, where they often visited Civil War sites or spent time exploring the beauty of West Virginia. For the last seventeen years, Betty was a “snow bird” who spent most winters in Florida. She loved playing games and pranks.

Surviving are her husband of fifty-six years, James E. VanCamp; daughter, Barbara (Todd) Palmer, daughter, Patricia Pratt Hostutler; daughter-in-law, Pamala Woolwine Pratt; son-in-law, Alex Gryskevich III; seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, John David Pratt; oldest daughter, Debra (Pratt) Gryskevich; son, Jay David Pratt; and son-in-law, Gregory Scott Hostutler.

Friends received 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 31, 2021 until time of service at 1:00 p.m., at the Paden City Church of the Nazarene, 104 S Fifth Ave., Paden City, with Rev. Keith Hostutler, presiding.
