Obituary for Vera Ruth Yoho (Bland)

Vera Ruth Yoho, 95, of Green Acres, WV died peacefully at her home on Monday, August 23, 2021 while surrounded by her family.

Ruth was born September 11, 1925 in Wileyville, WV; daughter of the late John and Ida (Brock) Bland.

She was a homemaker, owner operator of the Yoho’s General Store, she had worked at Timken’s Bearings in Canton, OH, loved to quilt, absolutely adored her grandchildren and a Methodist by faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Yoho; two sons, Clarence Yoho and Jerry Yoho; two sisters, Edith Shepherd and Ocie Anderson and brother, Clarence “Bud” Bland and an infant brother.

Surviving is her son, Larry E. (Linda) Yoho of Paden City, WV; four daughters, Carol (Gregg) Hawkins of New Martinsville, WV, Debby (Gil) Farmer of Parrish, FL, Marlene (Brian) Rodriguez of New Martinsville, WV and Charlene (Mike) Blair of New Martinsville, WV; sister-in-law, Flossie Bland of Chester, WV; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren with the twenty-eighth due in November (she will be named Ruthie Kay); one great-great grandchild with the second great-great grandchild due in September and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends received 11 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, WV. Burial to follow in Paden Memorial Gardens in Paden City.

Family is requiring masks to be worn.
