Obituary for Mary Lou Miles (Ater)
Mary Lou Miles, 79, of New Martinsville, WV died Wednesday, November 3, 2021 while at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
Mary was born June 5, 1942 in Moundsville, WV, daughter of the late James Herbert and Lois Jane (Lowther) Ater.
She was a homemaker, retired insurance agent, enjoyed gardening, loved her grandbabies and any activity they were involved in and attended the Lighthouse Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her great granddaughter, Julianna Hope Young and her siblings, Janet, Christy, Rebecca “Becky”, James and Bess.
Surviving are her four daughters, Deborah (Philip) Kittle of Cameron, WV and their three children, Amanda (Richard “Dicky”) Scott of Cameron, WV with their three children, Alicia (Amon Miller) Johnson of Buena Vista, TN with their three children and Jennifer (James Groves) Kittle of Moundsville, WV with their two children; Mary (Charles) Young of New Martinsville, WV and their four children, Charles (Crystal) Young, Jr. of Sistersville, WV with their seven children, Everett (Trish) Young of Glenville, WV with their four children, Jonathan (Nakayla) Young of Bridgeport, OH with their two children and Mary (Nick) Cross of New Martinsville with their two children; Lisa (Mark) Goodhart of Quaker City, OH and their daughter, Samantha (Cody) Harris of Quaker City, OH; and Terri (John) Boggs of New Martinsville, WV and their five children, James Haught of New Martinsville, WV, Kara Boggs of Moundsville, WV and Alyssa Boggs, Sean Boggs and Patrik Boggs all of New Martinsville, WV and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends received 1 p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m., Sunday, November 7, 2021 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, WV. Private interment in Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens near Wheeling, WV.
