Obituary for Elnora Tuttle (Willoughby)

Elnora Willoughby Tuttle, 94, of Proctor, WV died Sunday, November 14, 2021 at her home while surrounded by family.

Elnora was born May 1, 1927 in Proctor, WV; daughter of the late Holley William and Louisa Pearl (Workman) Willoughby.

A member of the Antioch Christian Church where she served as secretary/treasurer for many years also taught Children’s Sunday school. For many years Elnora worked on the Annual Homecoming at Palestine Christian Church. She was a member of the Hilltoppers Homemakers Club until it closed down. Former member of the Grandview EMS and Fire Dept. Elnora enjoyed crafting, cooking, sewing, baking, gardening and raising flowers. She worked on the Election Board for over thirty years.

Proceeding her in death in addition to her parents, are her husband, Thomas Virgil Tuttle; daughter, Roxanna Tuttle Root; grandson, Larry Ray Root; brother, Harold Willoughby; sister, Xie Lee Willoughby Goddard; sons-in-law, Albert Root and Edward Murriner.

Left to cherish her memory are her children; daughter, Sandra Murriner of Hurricane, WV; two sons, Thomas Vernon (Susie) Tuttle of Proctor, WV and Randy Wayne Tuttle of Proctor, WV; sisters, Verna Yoho of Paden City, Lennice Goddard of Santa Ana, CA and Sharon Ames of Warrenton, VA; sister-in-law, Deloris Tuttle Placer; grandchildren, Becky Goodnight, Angela (Scott) Harlan, Mary Ann (Shane) Brannan, Heather (Kenny) McMasters, Jonathan (Laura) Murriner, Holly (Keith) Rollins, Caitlyn (Joey) Lester; great grandchildren, Michaela, Kara, Sandra, Blake, Sierra, Samantha, Elnora, Asher, Elijah, Ben, Paul, Philip; great-great grandchildren, Walker, Willa, and one to be born in January.

Elnora was described by family and friends as sweet, kind and always willing to help.

Friends received 1until time of funeral service at 3 p.m., Saturday, November 20, 2021 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, burial to follow in Paden Memorial Gardens in Paden City.
