Obituary for Virginia "Nell" Yeager (Lemasters)

Virginia “Nell” Yeager, 85, of New Martinsville, WV passed away peacefully Sunday, November 28, 2021 at the Sistersville Genesis Center.

Nell was born November 20, 1936 in Iuka, WV, daughter of the late Thomas Maywood and Martha Jane (Eastham) Lemasters.

Nell was a retired sales clerk of the Plaza Hallmark Card Shop in New Martinsville, WV. She was a wonderful and caring homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Nell was a great bowler and a member of the Bruce Lanes Bowling Hall of Fame. Nell was a member of the Steelton Church of Christ. She was a proud graduate of Tyler County High School and attended class reunions for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, of fifty-four years, John Robert “Bob” Yeager, Jr.; six brothers, Lawrence Parl, Marvin, Orville, James “Ed”, Dennis and Landis Lemasters; three sisters, Deloris Thomas, Ruby Thomas and an infant sister.

She is survived by her son, Robert “Jay” Yeager and his wife, Barbie of Reader, WV; two daughters, Brenda Kay Ketchem of Washington, WV and Kathy Ann Yeager- Phillips and her husband, Deral of Morgantown, WV; two brothers, Harvey Lemasters and his wife Ada of Wellsburg, WV and Thomas Eugene Lemasters and his wife Jayelle of New Cumberland, WV; two sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Lemasters of Sistersville, WV and Betty Rollins of Napa, CA; seven grandchildren, Chris Ketchem and wife Stephanie of Parkersburg, WV, Stacy Shariff and her husband Yusuf of Fruitland, MD, Tyler Ketchem of Washington, WV, Corey Yeager and his wife Kortney of Masontown, WV, Ryan Yeager of Reader, WV, Eli Phillips and his fiancée Laken Dillon of Morgantown, WV and Emily Phillips of Morgantown, WV; three great grandchildren, Emmalynn and Lane Yeager and Zane Shariff.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, where services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 1, 2021 with her nephew, Larry Lemasters officiating. Burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in New Martinsville.
